Re: Trap The Ball w/SideFoot
I'm going to let my Canadian slip a bit here I think... ;) A similar skill in hockey is receiving a pass on your stick - it requires the same cushioning action and, like expert says, it's really a question of getting the timing down, and it will change depending on how hard the ball is hit, the slic...

Re: Who is still around then?
They say old EFers never die, they just fade away... Happy to see so many names I remember! I'll try to drop in a few times a week if I can. Anyone want to catch us up on what they've been up to in the interim? I'll start - I slogged my way through a five year university degree (computer engineering...

Re: guess who will win the World Cup
Germany definitely have an opportunity here, and of course no one is counting out Spain either, but, based on their Confed. Cup performance, I think it's not unreasonable to say that Brazil have a chance to reclaim glory. They are really playing like a family, and with home field advantage for a sid...

Re: Recommend a boot for a fullback
A light boot, eh? Yeah, a Mercurial series wouldn't be a bad idea, esp. an earlier one since they're just as good and have probably gone down in price. When I used to play wingback (since moved to CM), I preferred the stability and power of my Adidas Predators, but if you want speed, either a Mercur...

Re: Knee injury .
Do have any idea how you might've done it? Definitely get to a doctor ASAP, but for now, resting it is the best option. I took an injury once that just turned out to be relatively harmless bruising/inflammation of the kneecap, but I had a lot of trouble shooting and climbing stairs. Ice didn't seem ...

Re: Juggling Help
Definitely want to practice a lot, that's the only way you'll improve. But I want to make a correction: Too often, people get too caught up with the bending of the toes. Really, ideally, you want the biggest surface you can to contact the ball, which can only happen with a flat (so to speak) foot. Y...

Re: Your Favorite TV Shows
Breaking Bad is SWEET S4, I'm dying for the new season. Also love KJ, Sharman & co. on the Footy Show. Sad the podcast is hanging it up. :( I feel the same pain I did when Sid & Tim stopped having their podcast... Romez's Choice List of Choice TV 1) The Wire. Forever and always. Anyone who has seen ...

Re: I think United should sell Welbeck
As a Chelsea fan, I must admit there are few that make more nervous than Welbeck. He's seemingly the whole package. Speed, skill, size and work ethic. I'd hate to see where he'll be in a few years.

Thank God we have evolved past a man with a stick having to stand next to the goal. O_O Seriously, WTF was that about?

Goal Line Technology in World Cup 2014 (At Last)
About fu**in' time.
Anyone else have any other thoughts about this announcement besides the above? Personally, I think we all owe Frank Lampard a debt of gratitude for suffering for our sins. :p Apparently his non-goal was a major influencing factor. Praise Lampard's Law!
