Playing in small spaces helps you develop your close control which is vital in the game of soccer.
Look at any pro brazilian player- I can guarantee he used to play in small spaces which helped him develop his close control and dribbling ability which brazilians are famous for. Look at Ronaldinho, he could dribble in a phone booth.

Since Brazil doesn't have as many people as America, there is no excuse why the United States are not as good as Brazil on the world stage.
Since soccer is the national sport, all young brazilians end up playing the sport, unlike Americans, who usually play basketball, hockey, baseball, but now more and more, soccer.
Their weather is ideal for soccer, however in southern United States players can play all year around, which makes the weather less of an excuse.
Soccer is a sport where all you need a ball to play. In the united states, soccer is all about playing on full sized fields with perfect measurements and lines... In Brazil, players are thankful if they can find a patch of grass to play on.
Look at basketball players or "street ball" players. These basketball players are out all day playing pickup basketball against good opposition. Almost all NBA stars can probably relate to playing pickup games in local courts. This is how these players developed. Soccer players in america should be the same way.
You also don't need to be rich to play the sport, but if you have money, its a bonus, which the United States has a lot of can add to the program by importing famous coaches that can aid player development. In brazil, they have these coaches already because they have played and know the game.
In conclusion, if Americans can adopt these things into their soccer programs they will be a force to reckon with in the future. However, Brazil will always be a powerhouse do to all these factors.
