Hey, I practice my freekicks around 5 days a week, 2 hours at a time and I consider myself a deadball specialist. My freekicks, heading ability, speed and power are my good points. My dribbling is my bad side. It´s come to my attention that although I love playing CF or WF, my skills are suited to also being an OMF, my passing is 95% accurate and I´m trying to decide which position would be better for me. Could you recommend any exercises/training practises that would help me see what position I would fit into better? Thanks

Well I'm 14 years old and I have been playing soccer ever since I was 5.I have a problem doing moves like the siccors and other moves that I could do when I was younger. Some think it's because of the problem I have with my knee but I know its not.It could be because of my lack of training(thats why I came to this website to see how I can train by myself),but is there anything I can do about this?

Hi. 15/f I have been playing soccer for about 11 years now, and I feel confident about my skill level to take it to the next step. I was wondering if you knew of any soccer teams that are hosting try-outs pretty much anywhere in Canada (willing to move to the area) for my age group. I have been told that I should try out somewhere else because our small Northern Ontario town doesn't have good soccer programs. I am known around the town for my soccer performance. If you could e-mail me back I would greatly appreciate it. From Lee Kaperi

hey expert, i have a question. i am a skillfull player and i can beat players pretty well. i dont always use tricks but i am slowly starting to incorporate them into my game. i am good at simple cuts and beating players with shimmys etc. my problem is my speed. i can run with the ball quickly compared to my overall speed but im still just not fast enough. i need to improve my overall speed. what happens is i beat the player and sprint away but then they catch me run in front of me or tackle me etc. so obviously my aim is to improve my speed. i dont want to spend to many sessions per week on it as my skillz are more important. i am nearly 15 and do you think 1 to 2 sessions per week are enough? i would like to see a change in my speed in 3_6 months. my dad takes me down the beach and this is what we do roughly. 15 minute run in the soft sand, tuck jumps, hopping over balls and over cones up and down, lying on my belly or back facing the wrong way and getting him to throw the ball over my head and as soon as i see it getting up and sprinting for it in the soft sand, shuttle runs [varied] and similar stuff to that. it is fairly intense and goes for about an hour. i need an improvement in overall speed over 20, agility and general mobility. i also have a sprint ladder that i use down there. i am fit and can run all game but dont have that henry or ronaldo burst of speed. do you think i am doing the right things? could you suggest some different drills or a completely different approach? should i do it more than once a week, should i do it 3 or 4 times? will i notice an improvement in 6 months by just doing it once a week? thanks for your help and please tell me what i should be doing differently.

players like C. ronaldo can do extroadanary stepovers, that undoubtedly takes tons of practice. I was wondering if the really nice (and short and well kept) grass was a main reason. It seems the ball keeps rolling after he pushes it once... is this a major reason or just a minor one? is it because he can move his feet extremely fast? Whenever i do something like a double or triple stepover the ball keeps going behind my legs. The ball doesn't keep up with me, if i push it too hard i cant keep up with it.... i cant seem to find a happy medium. doing it on a road is much easier. So, my grass is not too long, but is much shorter than that of proffesional turfs, can someone like C ronaldo do his stepovers on long grass such as mine? What can i do to improve my foot speed, ankle weights while jogging? different excersices? what? help me! Thanks a lot

hi Expert, i was wondering what makes defender Roberto Carlos's free kicks more powerful, deadlier and accurate as he takes it and what postion/stance he takes before striking it 40 yards into the back of the net (e.g. how many step backs he takes and his angle towards the ball and the goal etc) thank you.

Hello, I have a question about confidence. I believe that I am a skillful player and I enjoy the beautiful game yet I seem to only be able to play outside of an actual team. For instance, whenever I am put into a situation; I seem to lose all focus and thoughts of 'what NOT to do' enter my mind. I become so nervous (butterflies) that I forget my position etc. I cannot seem to 'play my game' as competitive soccer maybe does not suit my temperment, yet competitive soccer DOES suit my skill level... Any insight as to how I could overcome this unfortunate dilemma?

thanks for answering my question before ! "1. Progress slowly and with patience. Rest immediately when you feel pain or discomfort. 2. Work at establishing a full range of motion as long as it doesn’t hurt. 3. Gradually strengthen the injured area and begin light workouts that do not strain the injured part. 4. When you feel that you are ready to work with a ball, play exclusively with your other leg. 5. If you itch for playing the game or training before you body allows it, try to improve yourself through nonphysical means. Read books and work on your visualization techniques. by Expert 22:10:28 Saturday 17 July 2004" what can i do work on visualization techniques.

hey expert, im having some trouble playing my position (right winger). It's my first year of rep, but i know how to play the game, i just dont really understand the right winger's main task. Is it to get the ball on the side, birng it up and cross it, or just an extra man to help out on defense? If you could explain my job in a little bit more depth I would really appreciate it, thanks.

hi my suggestion for all of u who r serious about soccer is to make up a training routine.that is what i have done i've decided to be a more rounded player so i'm dedicating almost all of my time to diminishing my weaknesses. i've set aside 4 hours each day specifically for soccer training. i split it into 2 hour sessions 1 during the morning and 1 during evening occasionally i go out for maybe an hour during the day. 1 hour for each session is dedicated solely to my weak foot (which has improved dramatically) the other 2 hours is mostly for dribbling and a bit of trapping. even if its poring out i still go out and play. do u have any thoughts about what else i could do? also i do this not because i want to "make it big" i do it because i love it if a team deams me good enough to play proffesionally i will undoubtedly take that opportunity. making it big is not what its all about every1 here must learn that. Great players are not born; they are made. if u learn this sooner rather then later u should be able to go far.
