Is it legal for a soccer goalie to enter the goal with the ball in their hands? Seems obvious, but someone swears you can.
The answer is: yes and no. The keeper’s body can enter the goal as long as the ball does not cross over the goal line. In practice, he can be standing outside of the playing pitch while his extended hands are preserving the ball inside the box. As long as the ball is kept inside the penalty box, the keeper is allowed to cross his own goal line while holding it. by Expert 22:17:31 Monday 23 August 2004
