I wanted to know how to improve your stepovers and get them to be like Robinho, Ronaldo or Denilson. Im good at doing tow kind of fast going over that ball and i can do about 4 with the ball in front of me, kinda like ronaldo did to fake out the goald keeper. But i wanted to know a good drill to improve this to show off |
Faking your opponents is a method used to trick or mislead them for a short period of time. But it usually does not take them out of the given play. Be aware of the fact that faking buys you time for only a short period. Exploit this period of time as soon as you have finished executing the fake. You can practice the above mentioned concept in isolation. Work on accelerating right after you have done a stepover. Faking should become an integrated feature of your dribbling.
There are many subtle ways of faking your enemy. If you observe masters such as Totti or Zidane, you will notice that when confronted by opponents, they throw a lot of tiny feints and tricks. Defenders are often confused when you do sudden movements like changing your footing or stopping with the ball completely.
The most effective feints are those, which are most appropriate for the particular situation. Always observe your opponentÂ’s body position and trick him accordingly. If he is coming in at speed, for example, you want him to continue his run past you. If your enemy is facing one way, you want him to believe that you are headed in the same direction. Fake your opponent in the direction where he thinks you will go.
Strive to be one step ahead of your enemy. Unpredictability is the most important concept that you need to learn. by Expert 18:55:48 Thursday 1 July 2004 |
