There are a lot of videos to help with your goalie skills on youtube etc. and scouts are rare in high school soccer but if there were they'd be watching finals.

I do love this site, but it's not very in-depth for keepers. |

In addition to the great websites the previous posters have given you, take a look at this page:
http://www.expertfootball.com/training/goalkeeping.php Also, goalies should have a general knowledge of each position on the field so that he/she can direct the defense. A goalie's knowledge of the stirker and midfield position will also help in the understanding of how the other team may plan on attacking your goal. For instance, if you know outside midfielders like to stay wide and find space to dribble down the line or send a pass into the dangerous middle, then you can adjust you own position when they get into the attacking third. In other words, be "a player for all seasons" http://www.expertfootball.com/coaching/positions.php My Architecture Blog(updated 02-12-13) |

Even if you barely make the team as JV, you'll improve tremendously if you become close to your goalkeeping coach (most high school teams have 3 coaches, with the third one specializing on keepers) He'll know what your weaknesses are, and what drills you need to do to improve. But until the regular season starts, do your best with the info everyone else is giving you.

You should start by joining the EF E-Team. We're paying top e-dollar for a keeper of any skill level! ![]() All roads lead to Rome. Triskaidekaphobia: The unnatural fear of the number 13. Most of Ballack's opposition have this phobia. I'm Scott. Don't let the title fool you; I.AM.CANADIAN! |

The lunge is a versatile fitness exercise that is helpful to warm-up your goalkeeper. The exercise can be used to develop all-round lower-body strength, flexibility, balance and power.
Lunges can be performed as body weight exercises or with weights to increase resistance. Lunging soccer drill The player should stand with his feet about a shoulder-width apart. He steps forward with one leg, landing with the heel first. At the finishing position the knee should be bent at 90 degrees and held directly over the toes. The movement is continued until the back knee is nearly touching the ground. The player returns to the starting position by driving upward with the front leg. He repeats the soccer drill by stepping forwards with the other leg. Throughout the exercise, the back should be kept straight and the head up, looking forwards. It is important to perform the exercise slowly and with a good posture. |
