Stereotype of Soccer in the USA

haha
i actually find this quite funny, when ridiculed by the big bad american football players. i actually played a pickup game with one of the best recievers in the school..along with some other football players (we're playing american football mind you). not only was i faster than this All District wide reciever, i managed to mark him out of the game. shocked as they were..i was only a pussy foot soccer player. once i asked for a soccer ball at p.e (physical education) and they told me communist sports weren't allowed. so i walk away laughing. i must say i'm respected as a soccer player in my school, though in the south its all bout football, baseball and 'muddin' (riding trucks through mud..they find it fascinating may i say) many people think that all americans deem soccer as a women or pansy sport...but this isnt as true. most americans dont pay attention to it..and when it's referenced -- "oh thats cool, you play soccer. you must run alot". but the few that do deem it girly are the ones that anger me. they're usually able to hear me out though. after i make a few comparisons between sport..they come to thier senses -- "your right, it takes a fit man to play the game"

Every once in a while here in Canada my friends poke fun at me for playing soccer. Hockey and american football are quite popular. But like someone posted earlier I remember when I was young and everyone loved played football but not anymore.
I just laughed though when some of those guys who dis the sport and were italian immediately jumped on the bandwagon and all of a sudden liked the sport when italy won the world cup. They buy italian track jackets and post like 10 team italy pictures on their myspace page to feel like they belong or something |

i played american football one year and i hated it! they is about 5 min. of playing and they rest is the huddle and stuff. its so slow paced and boring. also what ive found to be common is the people who trash talk about soccer are like the worst people at it. oh yeah, can you do any freestyle tricks w/ an american football?

lol how do u freestyle an american football? The closest I've probably been to that is just bouncing it on the ground and it coming straight back up. Which is harder than it may seem.
