Cristiano Ronaldo The Machine

Post by eddy192837 » 18 Jun 2011, 22:29

From control of the amazing Maradona to the explosiveness, speed and quick feet of Cristiano Ronaldo.. Here it is everyone: all about speed, explosiveness, and quick footwork especially with his stepovers which are phenomenal and extremely quick

I also fu**ing love the way he does stepovers, each stepover is of a different style, when he does them its literally like a dance, as opposed to doing exact same stepover over and over again...hard to explain what i mean when im this tired

3:22 was so nice, it was the extra step before the stepover that sold it even more..wow

see im not a big fan of his stepovers, i will let him dance in front of me all day but it's not crazy effective. The difference between messi and ronaldo is messi is agressive and always goes forward, ronaldo likes to showboat and kind of stay on the side of people, and doesn't make very much progression going forward. I think just taking big touches in front of him and knocking it around defenders would be a way better style for him then his little dance moves that do nothing. He doesn't even sell the move, his body stays stiff the whole time. He's got the speed to just burst past someone with a big touch idk why he doesnt do it

you must not watch his games very often collin. All ronaldo does anymore is kick and sprint. it's highly dissapointing considering he was much more fun to watch in his early years at utd.

Still man, in my opinion he is second best (first being Messi) because he is just so good individually.. He is the one who makes things happen in the games, he can make something out of nothing.. His speed, stepovers, and just explosiveness and power is what contributes to make his game even better. He is truly an amazing player.

If there was ever a player like this I would pay to see him just touch the ball
Control/Touch of Maradona
Speed and power of C. Ronaldo
Dribble of Messi
Vision and passing of Xavi
Crosses of Beckham

Come watch me dude :P.

Nah man Ronaldo stepovers are effective. Although he doesn't always get past them straight away if you watch them he can do loads of stepovers (which dont do anything) then suddenly just cut and shoot, which defenders don't expect.

Would be awesome if there was a 40 min vid like this on messi.

Collin, he scored the winning goal against Barcelona in the copa del rey. You don't get any bigger teams than that.

You say he's ineffective, well 50+ goals a season and taking the pichichi from Messi is a pretty impressive feat for someone who is supposedly "ineffective"...

klc there is a difference between quick feet moves that dont get him very far and amazing goal scoring abilities he has. He's clearly effective at scoring goals, but he doesn't need the moves to do it..by the way he played like sh*t against barcelona he just happened to make a long sprint and score a good header, thats all he did good the whole game

i'm not sure we watched the same game then collin. Ronaldo was dangerous throughout sure he didn't create a lot but all you want from a striker is to score. If you play 90 minutes and touch the ball once but you score that is a great game for a forward.

Barcelona had 78% possession that game? Forgive me if I'm wrong. For the 22% his team had the ball, a tiny amount was actually going forwards. For him to score in those conditions is good IMO. And as nick said, he was about the only player on the pitch that seemed a real threat ( and clearly was) to barca.

Pfft, I wouldn't call his step overs ineffective. Just because he doesnt beat the player as soon as he does them doesn't make them ineffective. I'd like to see you try and defend against ronaldo and see if you think the ministepovers are ineffective still.

ye barca had 78% possession, did you not read my post about "big games" aka i would consider barcelona to be a big game. Ye i would go against ronaldo and he would beat me easily, but he can stand there all day and do his little dances, im not going to lunge at his feet because i think hes going one way because he terrible at selling moves, hes going to beat me with his pace and power and just knock the ball past me. Im not trying to say hes a bad player here, he can score goals he can do it all, im simply stating my opinion that his stepovers are useless for someone of his physical abilities
