I believe I can be the next George Best but even my father laugh it off. I train hard almost everyday and does anyone here believe that I can be the next George Best by just training hard without any pure soccer talent.

Some many things make me want to just dismiss this post as a false post, but I'll respond. First and foremost who the hell are we to tell you what you can and can't do. I don't have even the slightest clue who you are personally so it'd me nothing.
For the sake of having to ask others if you have a chance of making it due to someone telling you, you can't I'm just going to go ahead and say you can't. What people say you can do doesn't matter as long as you're 100% sure you can, and are willing to put in the effort to. Anyone trying to do something past be average will get people telling them they can't do something, but the unshakable belief lead them to still do it. Do you think you can? Will you put in the effort to? Then yes, barring injury, and what not you definitely can. If those weren't answered with a "no doubt" then you can't. *Standing Ovasion* for Icy, what a great response. I have nothing to add, to that..
Thats true for football, for getting girls, for getting a job, for brushing your teeth, you name it.. Its achievable, but your gonna have to work a lot. Improvement creates self - belief. to know Him is to want to know Him more" "i don't know where the limit is, but I know where it is not" Tocar y moverse y tratarla siempre muy muy bien..' |

Actually, I have something to add to that. Let me first define what I mean by average so that I can just use the word without continuing to explain it. It'll be long and not vital to read\understand this but I feel like I have to type it.
Average - A person that follows the typical, go to school, go to college (or just get a job after high school), get a job after college, work til your in your 60s and retire. This is the typical path, of being "normal" which I will use for the next part. Ask anyone who is what would be considered average\normal if you can do anything that isn't considered a normal life and I guarantee you'll get a no. Why? Well, it's either because they have something that they were lead to believe they couldn't do or they don't want others going farther than them. "Farther" is just used in the sense of a person doing exactly what they want to do in life. A professional athlete can only be considered "farther" in life if it's what the person 100% wants to do, not because society leads us to believe they are "superhuman". On the other hand a person who is 100% happy backpacking around the world with very little material things would also be considered farther than a pro athlete who isn't 100% happy. On the other hand ask anyone who is living the life that we believe few can achieve and what would there answer be? It's almost a guarantee it'd be a yes, with a follow up as long as you believe 100%, and are willing to dedicate yourself even through sacrifices that will make you seem abnormal. Why is there this difference? The people living the life of their dreams have seen that hard work and sacrifice lead them to their goals, and also the people around them. Thing is though, "hard work and sacrifice" isn't anything like the 2 minute montage with the adrenaline pumping music in the background. You're going to be spending days, weeks, hours, YEARS, without only a few minutes worth of extreme work and music pumping. It's not easy. No one will tell you it will be. You'll be lonely. It's a guarantee. Do you truly want to just be as great of a player or do you want the fame\money? I ask because it just sounds weird that you want to be another player, and not you. Trust me, there are much better ways for the money\fame without having to risk permanent injury to your body. I won't say it's by any means easier, but this risk isn't worth it for someone whose true calling isn't to be a pro player. Sorry for the essay. haha "Somewhere along the line, we seem to have confused comfort with happiness" |
