Whoever saw the game knows that farca suffered a lot to win. The goals were not that great but in the end, scoring is what matters. That guy called Palanca that came in for Sneijder early in the game had a really good performance. Maybe Calderon should consider using young players in the academy rather than buying so many players that suck(drenthe, marcelo)
oh and casillas saved a pk and has some really good saves. ![]() Bienvenido Cristiano Ronaldo! |

Whenever these two meet its such a dramatic encounter. For that reason I had to watch this epic game in HD.........so after the spliff heh and damn that was a tense El Clasico. It was good performances from both sides. Madrid doing well to defend and springing on the counter whenever they could. Barcelona as usual dominated posession throughout the game. They kept on threatening Madrid's tight defence for a goal and took advantage of the final 10 minutes of the game which are crucial when it comes deciding a winner.
It seemed Ramos was playing with a diamond midfield, with Snejder on the right wing. Abidal and the defence were quick to shut him down so it didnt really work until Ramos brought in Palanca. I thought he was going to use Van Der Vaart but decided to go with this newcomer. I had no clue who this fellow was but learned he was a true winger, not a makeshift one like sneijder and van der vaart. His entrance allowed Real to utilize both Drenthe on the left and Palanca on the right for a well balanced attack. He also used Ramos on the left wing to cover Messi. Didnt really work in the first half. He broke Ramos' ankles within the first 5 minutes. Casillas saved his effort with a nice dive. Ofcourse if you take out the daunting task of marking messi, he did have a decent performance. The whole defence was on their toes against Messi. He was just dribbling all around Casilla's goal. They couldnt get the ball so they were just hacking at him like mad men. So many dirty fouls. It was remarkable how he kept playing on even after taking so much beating. But all those fouls definitely slowed him down over the game. Casillas had the game of his life until the 80th minute. He would have been the man of the match if it was a scoreless draw. He made so many saves from messi, henry and eto'o. He even guessed right for eto'o's penalty. Few minutes later he saved eto'o's shot and then messi's rebound the following second. Are you kidding me? The first goal was all captain puyol. He read the ball in the air and positioned himself properly to set eto'o up. Casillas was about to get a hold of it but Eto'o got the vital first touch. Second goal was a brilliant goal from Messi. The play starting from Hleb who served it up to Henry on the right wing, Henry sent messi on through with a 1v1 against Casillas. Messi controlled it one touch, and the second he chipped it just over Casillas' head. Cannavaro tried to save it but ended up hurting himself. After all those times Casillas dove to his sides to save messi's shots he failed to stop the one that went over his head.

Exactly,my thoughts.Palanca played much better than rest of the Real Madrid's midfield.Actually,he was leading the midfield as soon as he came on the pitch. |
