Bicycle Kick Guide

Ok, welcome back to episode two of Redrover's fancy tricks and kicks. In this post you will be learning all about the bicycle kick; its history, description, and how to execute it so even you can learn to bicycle kick.

Description: A bicycle kick, scissors kick, or overhead kick is a move in football, which is made by throwing the body up into the air, making a shearing movement with the legs to get one leg high overhead to reach the ball (in original head height), which gets kicked backward over the player's head (usually for a shot directly on goal)

History:This kick was used by various players from all over the world so the inventor is still without credit.

Execution (step by step) - Ok, you'll need a soccer ball and either a soft mat or grass to practice this:

Step One:
Keep your back to the target and your eyes on the ball.

Step Two:
Bring the knee of your non-kicking leg toward your chest followed immediately with the same motion of your kicking leg. The movement of your legs will appear as if you're pedaling a bicycle backwards.

Step Three:
Extend your kicking leg to meet the ball while you're airborne and falling backwards.

Step Four:
Pedaling down with your non-kicking leg, kick through the ball.

Step Five:
Pull your toes back so your ankle makes a right angle as you connect with the ball.

Step Six:
Extend both arms and your palms facing the ground behind you to brace yourself. You want to try and land like this on your stomach if possible.

Step Seven:
Watch the knee of your kicking leg until you're on the ground to insure that you don't hit your head.

Nice Guide Redrover! I'm gonna need to be able to bicycle. Maybe not in a game, just to show off. Still, excellent guide and nice video!
Mattsta-"There would be no point in freestyle if we knew all the tricks from the start. The fact that we had to practise to get them pays off because in the end we have earnt it."

Post your guides in the ensoccerpedia section.

see you put it in small print to make it seem like you wrote it, then if anyone spotted it you wouldn't be accused of fraud, nice, but not really

not actually, but kind of. I gathered information from those sites and posted them on here and also added some information of my own. Because my last guide was accused of plagarism because i got my information from websites.

and also i would post my guides in ensoccerpedia but unfortunantly i do not currently have the power to do so
