There are plenty of people that know who Mia Hamm is. No one will ever be as big as Pele was because he pretty much brought soccer to the forefront of the western hemisphere.
Mia Hamm is a star in her own right, but since women's soccer isn't on the same level market wise as men's soccer, thats the reason she isn't an international phenom like Ronnie, Henry, Ronaldo, or any of the other mens top stars.
In a couple years I wouldn't be surprised if Adriana of Spain, or Abby Wambach of the US were the top draws of the womens game. Right now Abby is the best womens player on the planet without a doubt. I thin Abby could play in the men's leagues in some countries because of her size and speed as well as technical ability.

What does being English and not caring about womens soccer have to do with anything? I'm sure you don't care about men's Basketball but I'm sure you know who Michael Jordan is!

Michael Jordan is one of the greatest players in a major sport.
In England, women's football is a novelty. I don't know any of the English women player's never mind one who plays for another country.

The womens world cup was close to being as popular as the world cup. The U.S won, becasue of Mia Hamm.

I never knew there was a womens world cup lol. Oh well I think its always going to be like that, that men will overshadow the women... men are just more determined/stronger physically which in return is more exciting to watch... unless of course u look at women sports for other reasons

If women's soccer was taken as seriously around the world as men's soccer, Mia Hamm might have a chance of being known like Maradona or Pele. Until then, forget it.

That may be the case in the US but its not in England. It's not as high a standard of football as mens football and never will be. It's a novelty and I have no interest in watching it.

Women are just as good at futbol as men.I bet if they played a game it would be evenly matched. And what the hell is a novelty?!
Procrastination is like masterbation, it feels good at first, but in the end youre just f'ing yourself.
