great football today. germany was sharp. btw in response to an earlier comment, they left that guy offsides on crc's second goal, the replay shows the ref made a bad call. as for the poland game.. i felt bad for poland since they dominated play, however the better team doesnt always win. they were fairly unlucky with shots (crossbars and posts) and the only two opporunties ecuador got they capitalized on. poland is a solid side with some talent, i still cant figure out why they had so little success with getting goals. i bet theyll give germany a run though. ecuador had so many guys back that were just so willing to sacrifice themselves to block the balls. i dont think youll see such things from germany, let alone the fact that they have like 3 men on defense for the most part. shoudl be interesting.

England 1 Parguay 0

Becks 4th Minute freekick went low into the bottom right corner. England controlled most of the game, and squandered some long distance shots by Gerrard and Lampard.

England were way below standard and should of easily won that game the midfield played rubbish and crouch was left upfront on his own. Sven made bad subsitutions and the referee was a joke to all of the decisions went to Paraguay. i thought Paragauy played well but i dont think England should have gave them so much space and time. The man of the match for me was Joe Cole he played outstanding and made some good dribbles. Overall even though England won the game we didnt play that well and hopefully should improve otherwise we wont stand a chance on winning the cup.

the T&T vs Sweden game was pretty good i felt. sweden seemed to have the ball 70% of the game tho. i was rootin for T&T and im pretty pumped to see them grab a point. Id love to see them in the 2nd round. That shot of the crossbar ahh so close. Hislop was sick in that game absoutly clutch. and dwight york making 2 blocks at one point. all with 10 men, good stuff. ibrahimovic played well at the top of the box i felt, and came close to puttin on away high near post in the 2nd half.

I hated the Argentina Ivory coast game.......Argentina just kept pissin me off. I don't think I've seen that much diving since olympic swimming. Little girls. Amazing goal for Drogba though, i was impressed with how he stayed in the game, he definitely didnt give up.

So far I am most impressed by Argentina. They're fast, skillful, aggressive and organized. I feel that they will go far.
Haven't seen Italy and Brazil yet, but I think these three teams will be the main contenders.

Argentina played well on both sides of the field. Nice goal from Saviola and a great through ball from Riquleme, good job by Saviola to stay onside and get past the Ivory Coast defense.

Ivory Coast played well.........Aregntina should have killed the game off properly though.

But Sweden should have thrashed Trinidad and Tobago, the Soca Warriors had a great game though! Smile

Holland versus Serbia & Montenegro is probably today's best game, I think Angola versus Portugal is also today......

Highlights of teams from Group C:-

Ivory Coast - African Cup Finalists lost on penalties vs Egypt.

Serbia and Montenegro - Conceded just a single goal in their qualification.

Netherlands - Creative young team, semi finalists Euro 2004, 2x World Cup Finalists.

Argentina - Boasts a team of high quality individuals.

I think its safe to say that Group C is the hardest group. As a dutchy, ofcourse i hope them dutchies get through from the group stages well anyway they better. Next match in 20 min.... Holland vs Serbia and Montenegro

Must agree with you there. Group C is the hardest contrary to what others think.
All teams have quality players with many strengths and few weaknesses. I think after last nights Argentina result Argentina are certain to get through, despite their fag players who dive at every oppurtunity they get. They played very well.
Ivory Coast also played well and Holland and Serbia & Montenegro will have to treat them with the upmost respect.
