It's just a rumour at the moment

i hope he goes to a different club. I'm not trying to sound like a chelsea hater or anything but they already have a pretty strong team. getting a player like ballack would ruin the championship because nobody would be able to compete with chelsea. I also dont like the way the pay crazy amounts of money for some players.

The top flight of English football was ruined as a competition when the top clubs broke away to form the Premier League ![]() Mandy felt Brian's wrath when she wandered in front of him after they'd announced free beer at the bar..... |

OK history lesson:
The Premier League was formed in 1992 when the greedy teams in the top flight of English football wanted to negociate their own TV deals. The Football League (the top flight at the time refused) so the clubs formed their own league and from then on the rot set in. Each new TV deal gives more and more money to the big clubs and the financial gap is growing. Thus, teams trying to get into or stay in the Premier League have to risk their financial futures. A huge number of clubs have nearly gone bankrupt. Few if any clubs can break into the established teams stranglehold at the top due to the huge financial investment need to attempt to compete. The size of the league has been reduced because the leading clubs claimed they were playing too many games. Now they fill in the spare time by going off to the States and Far East on lucrative tours Promoted clubs have to decide if they are going to even try to compete in the Premier League or just accept relegation and use the cash to build another stronger promotion challenge. Teams can spend millions of over-rated, over-paid players trying to stay up and when they go down, they players contracts have to be honoured. I hate the way top flight football has gone. I just hope Chelsea keep going and completely destroy the Premier League and the Champions League as competitions. Maybe then, the clubs will put in rules to benefit football instead of the selfish few at the top. The old Division 1 and today's Premiership are a million miles apart ![]() Mandy felt Brian's wrath when she wandered in front of him after they'd announced free beer at the bar..... |
