i just got a new nike training ball and it got scratched bad =ly the first time i played with it. can anyone tell me which kind of ball is more durable?
do training balls break more easily? because the last ball i had was a match ball and it lasted for like a year before i killed it when i pumped it with a very thick needle |

they're not of as high of quality as match balls, but training balls shouldn't break THAT much easier. just be careful with it, and try to avoid gravel and stones.

If you want a durable ball that will LAST, get the Diadora Flaminio NFHS from: www.soccer.com
I have the same ball and it has lasted me longer than any other ball i own (including the top footballs out on the market). I have played with it in every type of condition possible (including freezing weather and snow) and its still in perfect condition. it only cost about 45 dollars also, which is a pretty good price for a fifa approved ball. |

you should also check what kind of cover the ball has
* Synthetic o The best quality soccer balls are all made of synthetic materials o Synthetic balls offer superior feel and softness, but are generally less durable and less water-resistant than their polyurethane counterparts o They are also more expensive * Polyurethane o PU soccer balls offer the benefits of synthetics (for feel) and plastics (for durability) o These balls are made of a durable synthetic material that offers a feel much like leather o These balls are very durable - only slightly less than PVC, scuff-resistant, and water-resistant o They often have a glossy coating for additional protection * PVC o PVC balls are molded out of a plastic-like PVC material and are generally the least expensive balls o These are very durable, scuff-resistant and water-resistant but offer less feel and softness than polyurethane balls o They often have a glossy coating for additional protection

That was a great post by "croationblood", but instead of going through all that research and time, buy the ball that i advised, trust me. I have played with it in all conditions and its stiil in EXCELLENT condition(and also STILL has an excellent feel). i have played with it on pavement, snow, rain, ice, ect......still perfect, also a great price for the quality of the ball.

Another good sign to see how good a ball is is to see if its Fifa Approved. If you're looking for a quality ball, Fifa Approved balls should be good because they go through numerous tests and pass them.
Sig by me. |

also, in addition to everything else, go ahead and spend the extra few dollars if there's a match ball version of it, rather than just buying the training ball. also, j, my friend has that diadora flaminio ball you said was good. i asked him about it and he agreed, it was (or still is, rather) the best ball he's ever had.

Get a Select. I used one on gravel for one and a half years before it got stolen and it was still in exellent condotion. Now my new nike ball is pretty badly worn after only about 5 months.
