Shitty days

today was just an awful training day for me and i have no idea why. The past few days have been great for me my dribbling at speed and stuff was awesome. Today i headed to the pitch and it just didn't feel right, my speed dribbling technique you know taking a touch every step was a complete disaster. The last couple of days its been doing great and everything was going so smoothly.
It really gets me down when this happens, i was tripping over the ball and found myself dribbling 5x as slow as what i usually dribble at, and i had a very tough time taking a touch every step which is very unusual. I also think this had to do with my cleats and the ball. Has anyone else here tried speed dribbling when your cleats and your ball are making that squeaking noise and the ball is just like so sticky to your foot you trip over it? thats what this felt like for some odd reason. I have never been able to speed dribble when this happens.

Yeah i really don't know, i got so depressed that i just left the field, i figured im better off going home and not doing anything then fucking my technique up by attempting to fix this situation which wasn't going to happen. Does anyone else have days like this? Gosh it really gets me down and makes me feel guilty. I guess i better stick to wearing my leather shoes because i aint going through this shit again. For some reason god won't let me have a solid week of soccer where i can actually be pleased. I never have a week where i look back at and say wow that was a good week. Somethings always going wrong

I've never had a perfect week of training either, don't worry. I love this from one of my favorite films The Pursuit of Happiness - "It was right then that I started thinking about Thomas Jefferson on the Declaration of Independence and the part about our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And I remember thinking how did he know to put the pursuit part in there? That maybe happiness is something that we can only pursue and maybe we can actually never have it. No matter what. How did he know that?" - Get's you thinking.

I would definitely try and train more in your cleats if it's a problem, your going to have to play in them so get use to it.

Remember, we all have bad days, weeks, even months, I know I have. I remember days where I've been reduced to tears of anger because I couldn't complete a drill properly - Now that's pretty bad. Stick at it mate.

Everything you need, is already inside.

Its extremely hard to have a perfect week in terms of performance. However its not impossible to have a perfect week in terms of effort. Dont get too down about it Collin. I would say wear your best, most comfortable boots, and maybe practice in your new squeaky ones a bit more by yourself and try to wear them in before you go to team training with them.

Sig by me

i have worn these boots many times and this is the only time they have done this and i have no idea why

Mate you need to chill. Itll happen every now and then. If you want it to be you can make your next training session brilliant.

Maybe more focus and preparation about 30 mins before training?

Mental preperation and lack of fatigue mate. You cant get freaked out by off sessions.

I think it's just practice and mental strength. I never have off days now, but I used to have them all the time. The more you play and practice, the more consistent you get. I've gone from rarely playing my best to playing my best virtually every time I play, it's a mental thing, as well as experience.
