-Hitting hopeless long balls that the other defenders just eat up -Losing the ball in dangerous positions Its basically killing an attack before it gets to develop, very fit and dedicated forwards are needed... the likes of Ronaldo, Henry, Ronaldnho I never see do this A very clever way to play, but it usually leaves the front to shattered by 60minutes Thats actually Eto'o's job being the centre forward. He does the exact same thing you mentioned. Thats how gudjohnsen scored against valladolid and one reason why eto'o got a yellow after he caused a goalie to nervously drop kick the ball out of bounds today ( 5 yellows means he misses next game, which was in fact a genius move because he is ensured a spot for el classico) What I meant by messi defending with the team, was that he runs back to make the tackle and goes deep into the midfield to help in spreading posession to find a way through. Never does he mope around waiting for the ball, he runs back for it.

Oh tracking back (sorry I found your other post's confusing, was trying to clarify it INTER1908 wrote: How did CR do today?

In terms of aggressiveness and tracking back, I think Rooney does a lot more of it than Messi. He goes in a lot harder than Messi. Also, Rooney has more of an edge than Messi.

my god. Yes! Look it up. It's in the weekend thread or ESPNsoccernet, or any number of other websites. It's the Manchester Derby tomorrow. United play City

I'm lazy sorry, I forgot about the weekend thread too. Leo Messi had 2 goals today, the first one was a cracker from about the 18, but the goal keeper didn't really try to get it.

I acknowledge that. I am saying that Messi is agressive too, albeit marginally less than Rooney, but aggressive nonetheless. If Messi gives a 100%, Rooney gives a 110.

Skill-wise, yes, it's hands down Messi but the intangibles go to Rooney.

If we can talk about other positions than Puyol is another one of those players that don't ever give up.. and I think I might even say Amauri.

Just a little caparision on the 2 player this weekend:
Messi- 2 goals cr7- red carded for being a bitch who did better? and Rooney did score today, off a tap in, does that make him the best player on the pitch today? |

I didn't get to see the game and espn soccer nets description of his red card was shit so can anyone tell me what he did to get two red cards or am I going to get another 1.00 rating vote? |

All You Have To Do is Click The Blue
And he got 2 yellows not 2 reds And Rooney did score today... so it would have been a Rooney preformance if he didn't... but no 3 points? |

I like how he tried to say it was a push, and the Rio bitched him out while he was bitching to himself about the card. He's a bitch |

Yeah, I know it was two yellows. A friend described it to me now. Soccer net said he got the second one from pushing Rooney's corner and I was like WTF does that even mean..but I got it now.
