The Electronica Thread!

Post by bsc » 10 Apr 2009, 22:29

This is the official thread for those who enjoy trance, Techno, Electropop, Electronica, Technotronic funky beats, Dance, Rave, and all other forms of the genre.

I think a lot of us may agree that the king of electrotrance is Tiesto, but who else does everyone like that we might not all know about? Calvin Harris and Justice are 2 of my favourite new groups (they each only have one album so far). you dont have to think of electronica as your favourite genre to post here, you just have to enjoy some sweet sounds.

Yeah ministry of sound albums are sick! If I just wanna groove in the car ministry of sound is the only way to go.

for me and hard techno there's basically two school of thought, Ed Banger Records(Justice, SebastiAn, Simian Moile Disco, Uffie, DJ Mehdi, Mr Oizo, Busy P), or DFA records(LCD Soundsystem, Juan Maclean, Hot Chip, The Rapture,Hercules and Love Affair)

ED Banger is more hardcore and has a lot more French artists, and DFA is kinda punk pop, with their leading signing LCD Soundsystem

I love all kinds of electronica :D

I love rave and electronica

Daft Punk aren't under that genre
BUT THEY ARE fu**ing AMAZING
And most of there songs are great to dance or to party to (tea party, I don't go to real ones)

I usually consider all great party and dancing tunes under the genre of dance/electronica

Paul Okenfold is a artist you should check out bsc!

A few good tunes

Satisfaction - Benny Benassi
Dreaming - Tiesto
Juicy Pen - DJ Ozi
Cry for You - September
Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss - The Bloodhound Gang
Clubbed to Death - Rob Dougan
Too Long/Steam Machine - Daft Punk
Lethal Industry - Tiesto
No Good - Prodigy

Thats just the tip of the iceberg

Lol, Bloodhound Gang definitely aren't electronica, this is still one of my favorite songs by them because, well.. I love all their songs cause they're fu**ing stupid and hilarious.

they are legends though...

Well that paticular song is electronica in my opinion, but they are a great band, I love The Ballad Of Chasey Lain
They sing such utter dirt, but it sounds really good is whats amazing

I'm not big into crystal castles, i have like 2 songs by them... any recommendations?

Thread bump.

Porter Robinson is a kid relatively new to the scene who has already well established himself at only 18 years old, all his tracks are MASSIVE.

This one is prolly my favorite. It gets me so hyped and the drop about halfway through absolutely KILLS at parties. If the sub is powerful enough it practically blows chicks' tops off.
