Football Association of Serbia and Montenegro
Serbia and Montenegro is the descendent of the older, unified SFRY (Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia) team.
The Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was formed in 1992, but international sanctions banned the country from participating in international sporting events. The national FRY team didn't play its first match until 23 December 1994.
In February 2003, FRY officially adopted the name Serbia and Montenegro.
